Today it is nearly a given that projects are executed by distributed teams from multiple companies and vendors both with multiple locations often spanning several countries.

Projects are also frequently grouped into a program that integrates and sequences their delivery. This greatly increases the complexity of managing scope, quality, schedule, and cost across many more teams and stakeholders.

The complexity introduced by programs using distributed resources requires extensive experience managing outsourcing and vendor relationships and remote teams. Project management skills are a given.
